My ‘lil brother has grown

I have to say, I’m the most untalented child in our family tsk! My sister has the brains (graduated magna cum laude with a degree in accounting) , my brother has also the brains and creative talent to boot and I, well I only have beauty *ehem*. My brother has writing skills that would put this blog to shame and now I was sent this video that he directed, starred and produced. I’m surprise how he can do it all! Now, I have a video editor at my beck and call. Hurrah!

Here is the video that he directed.

My he has grown, he is that moreno thin guy and the one on the floor at the end of the video. Heck! Just look for my look-alike, we do have similarities ya know!

Shopping for Baby Items

I haven’t really shopped for baby items yet, I feel that its too early since I’m only on my 5th month. Also, I’m hoping that my beloved friends will shower me with gifts *wink wink*.

I found a great shop for shopping baby items, from strollers, car seats, playpens, nursing and clothes they are all there. You won’t have hard time to as the site is pretty descriptive of their items. So, if you love me enough buy me or rather buy something for the baby there. LOLZ!

How hard can finding a name be?

Now that we know that our baby is a boy, many have been asking on his probable  name. Its F*cking hard to think with every one having a comment for every name that I’ve chosen. Ga!

Sydney, AU is on top of my list

Sydney, Australia is another one of those countries that I wish to see sometime in the future. I can stay in Sydney or while away my time looking at the gorgeous Darling harbour.

We were suppose to migrate to Australia but since we were handed out an opportunity to come here in the U.S., we took the bait and moved here. It would have been nice though because Yiek’s aunts and uncle are there and jobs are a-plenty in North Sydney.

If these venture will not push through definitely Australia would be next in our list.

Baby @ Week 20

new baby

Week 15: Next ultrasound middle of Sept, so finding the gender will have to wait a few more weeks. Aug. 16, next OB/Gyne appointment, will hear baby’s heartbeat again. Nobody has asked if Mommy’s pregnant which means, mommy’s tummy is not yet obvious. They are saying that Mommy got a small tummy for 3.5 months and gained only 4 pounds the entire pregnancy . Mommy is damn proud, she says “Maybe I won’t get big that much and I can get slim fast after delivery” although Daddy is worried that I might be small for my age. Will find out this Thursday.

Week 16: Bloodtest for spina fida(developing spinal cord of a fetus doesn’t close properly) and down syndrome. I think I felt the baby moving but am not 100% sure, baka bitok ko lang or maraming hangin tiyan ko. ewan!

Week 17: Haven’t felt the baby kick yet, dammit! I think I’m too manhid. I’m also having difficulty sleeping, always getting up to pee, which is more frequent than my usual and finding the right “side” position, so I bought myself a pregnancy pillow, which cost a fortune, but I had to choose between spending and having at least a little sleep. The pillow is huge and occupies more than half my share of space, Yiek is complaining that he is too cramp up.

Week 19: Pants don’t fit anymore so I had to buy maternity jeans from Gap and Motherhood, its on sale of course, ako pa. 4 jeans to last me for 1.5 – 2 weeks, that’s it for the whole pregnancy! Also, bought a cute blouse and golden/yellow maternity dress. Lots of cute dresses to buy no money *hikbi*. Also, I’m in denial mode, I feel weird wearing those maternity tops and dresses, I’ll wear them once my tummy gets really obvious. Ultrasound this Thursday to determine baby’s gender. Huwag makulit baby ha, para makita namin bibingka o hotdog mo. I have tons of classical music on my ipod for baby to hear (will do for now until I get my babyplus), she’s/he’s a sucker for Beethoven (nag move siya eh nung Beethoven ang music). Yiek has been putting his ear on my tummy every night but sad to say he hasn’t heard anything nor felt the baby move, di feel ni baby si Daddy :P . One more week to go and I’m halfway there!

Week 20: Wohoo halfway there!!! My tummy is REALLY obvious now, in fact I’m worried that Baby Ezra might be too big. See I have a name now, I WANT that name but we are still debating so it “might” change if I don’t win or Yiek can convince me of other names. I have some pictures of his tiny pikoy, will post them later. I’ve gained 12 pounds since then, I’ve never ever been this heavy in my entire life! To date, I am 119 pounds. I’ve been eating a lot of meat lately less veggies, must change diet, must change diet. Also, I’ve been munching on choco mallows today, tell me how to stop eating these!!!

No more confusion

It’s a boy!!!

I was sure that I’d be having a girl, online tests and Chinese calendars predicted it so but they were all proven wrong. Yiek is gloating that he won our bet and now he’s saying that his birdie is long because we have a boy (pakit-a ko ug laing actual beh para ma compare nako!).

Fall na naman

Fall season is cooommiinnng! No I’m not excited about the weather because I can’t wear my sleeveless tops and slippers what I’m excited about are the upcoming shows. Our weekdays are fully-booked with Heroes, House, Desperate Housewives, Scrubs and Bionic Woman. Yiek would want to watch Prison Break which isn’t my thing, there is also Grey’s Anatomy but its just not my thang din.

Travelogue: Going to L.A.

I am so damn sleepy, I really need a vacation from our vacation. I have no immediate tasks to do except to read some docs which I’m not really in the mood to do, so as usual I resort to blogging. Add to that, I’m sneezing my ass off and when I say sneezing, I’m saying non-stop sneezing from morning to night so my eyes are really watery and I’m so sleepy I can just close my eyes and sleep even while sitting.

Ok, let me stop ranting and start my Travelogue. Once upon a time in the land far-far-away..ekk di pala to fairy tale. That’s it I’m drinking coffee, I’ve already had a bar of snickers (bad mommy!) to keep me awake but its not working, I will have coffee by hook or by crook, just kidding, I’m not that bad of a mommy with the little one kicking often now, I can’t afford to be that bad so I’ll just be having decaf and that’s it for the week and several glasses of water of course to counter the coffee.

~~~
On this trip, I prepared zero itinerary, I didn’t know what to do when got there, all I wanted was to see Beverly Hills, Hollywood and Disneyland. Yiek had many relatives including his grandma so I didn’t plan anything. I booked tickets from Expedia and got great rates for Continental Airlines. I liked the airline so much, that I’m sure I’ll be a repeat customer. I also bid a rental car from Priceline and got a very cheap rate for only $15 a day.
I crammed packing our bags the night before. We were on the way to the airport at 4:00 pm, as we already printed our boarding passes, we went directly through security check and then waited 1.5 hours to be boarded. Apparently we were #40 on the queue to takeoff, so we waited another hour but arrived in L.A. at the expected ETA.
When we arrived we didn’t have any clue as to how to get our rental car, so Yiek called Budget-Rent-A-Car to ask for more info, apparently you only have to take the shuttle, which we missed by the way, circling the airport. We waited another 15 minutes for the shuttle to come by and got our rental car. We got a brand new Hyundai Santa Fe and we were very happy, woohoo! SUV at $15 a day lang. Sulit talaga. Plugging, use priceline to get great deals! LOL!
This was Yiek’s 2nd time in L.A. and my first. I felt at home immediately, it felt like I was in Manila/Cebu. The houses are de-coral (fenced) and some of the roads were lubak-lubak(unpaved) and the weather so much like home. Yung bahay ng Tita ni Yiek para lang ako nasa Sunny Hills Subd. na nag-gala-gala, pramis feeling ko nasa pinas na talaga ako. So this was why so many Filipinos are here, its so like Pinas.
We were immediately ushered into the kitchen and we ate humba, fried fish and lechon manok. Sarap! Baby liked L.A. so much that he/she literally grew overnight. My tummy is so evident now that there is no denying that I’m pregnant. So now, I’m scared that my baby might be big for his age, so I’m going on a semi-diet. I gained 6 pounds in 3 weeks, tama ba yan!
